THE TIGER PRINT
for SABYASACHI A/W 23
About the print
Hand painted mix media artwork inspired by the brand insignia - The Royal Bengal Tiger. The motifs capture the essence of tropic of Calcutta and the flora and fauna of the Sundarbans, home to the world's largest area of mangroves. The plumeria, bananas, berries, pineapple and palm trees are symbolic of the sheer diversity of the region. The spirit of Bengal defines the aesthetic and artisanal fervour of the brand. The motifs are a metaphor for not just the brand, but also India's almost natural maximalism.

Production
The print was launched exclusively for the New York store as a part of the ready to wear A/W 23 collection. The artwork was printed in 2 colorways across seven silhouettes for both womenswear and menswear - Long shirt, Classic silk shirt, Silk top, Velvet pant, Velvet dress, Silk dress and Sari.
